In questa serie mi rivolgo a delle opere del famoso scultore barocco. Il mio tentativo è quello di togliere tutto quello che è possibile togliere per lasciare solo lo sguardo come significante del dialogo interiore che si sta svolgendo tra i personaggi.
Questo lavoro è una ‘condensazione’ (erosione) del gruppo ‘Apollo e Dafne’, in cui mi sono concentrato esclusivamente sullo sguardo tra le due figure. Il lavoro è decisamente essenziale: due parallelepipedi in legno entrambi di sezione 7×7 cm ma di altezze diverse, fissati a due pareti ad angolo in modo che il rapporto tra i due elementi rispecchi quello esistente nel gruppo scultoreo.
Per Dafne ho usato del legno di alloro, per rimanere fedele al racconto del mito.

In this series I turn to works by the famous baroque sculptor. My attempt is to remove everything that can be removed and leave only the gaze as a signifier of the inner dialogue that is taking place between the characters.
This work is a ‘condensation’ (erosion) of the group ‘Apollo and Daphne’, in which I focused exclusively on the gaze between the two figures. The work is almost minimalist: two wooden blocks both of 7×7 cm section but of different heights, fixed to two corner walls so that the relationship between the two elements reflects that existing in the sculptural group.
For Daphne I used laurel wood, to be faithful to the myth.
